School Stuff

I'm so overwhelmed with anatomy/physiology at this second my brain feels like it might explode. I'm memorizing bones/fossas/curves/ you name it in the entire skull, face, neck, chest, ribs, and spine this week not to mention the 300 or so Q&A for my lecture notes. Seriously. I had no idea there were so many friggin' holes, fissures, bones, sutures, sinuses in the head/face alone. Let me tell you though, I made an A on my first exam which was no easy task. There are 35 or so people in the class and there were 3 A's and I counted at least 7 F's. So there ya go. I did well on my first biology writing assignment as well and my other classes are going smoothly. Anatomy is a big deal for me though because that grade will be factored into whether or not I score high enough on the school's point system to determine if I can get into the nursing program next fall or not. I feel good about it b/c my GPA should be pretty high and I'm hearing anatomical words in my dreams (yeah I'm studying hard). I can't believe how much I've already learned though, it's amazing and I can't wait to take nursing courses. I know I'm in the right field b/c the human body and functions just "wow" me the more I learn; God knew what He was doing.

Algebra is actually going much better than I expected, my humanities class (religion/survey of the New Testament) is great and I just made a 104 on my first exam in there and my oral communication class is a breeze for me. We haven't had but one quiz (which I scored perfect on) on paper in there, the rest has been impromptu speaking and I think I'm one of maybe 3 people in that class that's ever watched the news or has opinions on current events and the like so needless to say, I pretty much rock the casba in there, too. I have to give a speech tomorrow but I don't know the topic yet. He had us email him with 3 topics we felt comfortable with talking about for about 3 minutes on the spot and he's picking 1 of the 3 and we won't know until we're at the podium tomorrow what he picked. I hope he pics illegal immigration for me b/c he's a big cry-baby liberal and Lee and I have had so many great bitch-fests about how anti-illegals we are that I feel I have some ammo to take him down a notch or two which would be so fun considering everyone in class thinks he's a self-righteous prick. My other two topics were re: seperation of church and state and something about the importance of training your children for emergencies at home (fire, 911, your mom bleeding like a stuck pig from the head). Something tells me he'll pick one of the two more controversial topics for me though.

All in all despite not having time for much of anything but homework and dealing with the kids each day, I like my classes and they're going well and I'm staying on target and getting ahead any little bit I can here and there. I wish I had more help in the house but I'm just going to have to face the fact that I cannot do it all despite how hard I'm trying. We're wearing clean clothes and eating each day, bathing and getting our homework done, so I guess we're alright.

I've taken some Tylenol PM to soothe the little ache that's constantly around my head wound right now and to help me get at least 7.5 hours sleep at this point so I can get up and ready in the morning, then get the kids up and ready, and everyone off to school. I'll be in T'town on Saturday but home the rest of the weekend looking at bones. ROLL TIDE!!!

Hey honey! Sounds like you're handling the whole school thing pretty well. I'm proud of you. I wish I was nearby so I could help you around the house, but unfortunately i'm getting ready for a stressful time myself. Ramadan starts tonight. LOL. Hope to catch up with you soon.
