How did this happen?!

Suddenly, as if in a dream, I understand algebra. To an extent. OK in high school I couldn't care less about it; just wanted high enough grades to cheer. Now suddenly I'm pushing 30 and thrust into a whole new life for myself and yet another change has taken hold--I'm making As and Bs in an algebra class.

The way our classroom is structured is like this: we each have a computer in math lab with our own headphones (earbuds) and we go at our own pace, going through each lesson and working stuff out along the way, answering questions, and taking a quiz at the end of each section. If you fail it, you go through that section again. If you pass it, you move on to the next section. Once you have completed the work for like 8 sections, you take a test on all you've gone over so far and you can't go back to any of your notes or use your book for the test. So you turn in your notebook (binder) and the math prof checks it over and grades it b/c you have got to have that thing like she likes it! I got a 100 on that today and a B on my test that covered the work I've done the last month. I like the way this class is structured. I don't feel stupid if I need to review something; nobody else knows or cares. I've never failed any part of anything either. If I pass a pretest on a new section, I get to skip it and go on to the next section! Today after my test, I started a new section and scored 100% on the pretest and accidentally clicked to start the lesson anyway....dangit...now next week when I go back I guess I'll have to go through the stuuuuuupid thing anyway. Oh well. I'm hoping to go up there an extra day next week anyway and try and get ahead a little bit!

BTW, I didn't have to give my speech today. We ran out of time so I will go on Monday.

Everything else is going well. I haven't had headaches today and I actually fixed my hair normally today. That's been hard up until now b/c my scalp has been so sore all around that spot.

It just so happens I've been learning tons re: skin and bones and tissues lately and I so wish I could see my head right now. LOL I'm driving my friends crazy (friends not in school with me) with trivial details like, "Did you know that you are shorter when you go to bed at night than when you first wake up in the morning?! Do you want me to tell you why??!!" They keep asking me if they're going to have to listen to this for the rest of their lives. Yes. Yes they will.

I'm off to cram in some more bio before bed. We have extra point quizzes at the start of each class and that goes toward my grade on the next big test which I am totally sweatin' already so I need all the extras I can get.

Toodle Pip!
