In the news this week...
I did well on my speech yesterday and am studying up for my first exam in speech class which will be tomorrow around 1pm. The teacher is a prick but I'm overlooking that and being a total kiss-up anyway b/c it's a class I have to take for my major and I plan on making good grades so there. I have a big anatomy test next Thursday and the following week will have a huge lab practical covering all of the bones (and all their nooks and crannies) and tissues. I kinda want to throw up thinking about it and looking at all the notes this entails but am trying to take it bit by bit and study it every day.
So far, the best part about returning to college for me has been this: The first week or so of school for the kids, Evan's class all drew a picture of what they want to be when they grow up. My son drew himself in a nurse's hat that read 'RN' on the front, a syringe in one hand and a bottle of medicine or something similar in the other hand with a big smile on his face. He told me he wanted to be a nurse like mommy and help sick kids "like with asthma" to get better just the way the nurses helped save him when he had his "bad asthma attack" in January. I'll let that speak for itself b/c words can't express how that touched me and how proud it made me of myself and of him as well.
Tyler is turning 10 next Friday. I swear time is flying and lately it feels like the world is spinning faster and I can't find enough time and the time I do have I want to hold on to so badly! We're having his birthday party at JumpZone (where Evan had his last winter) which is a big indoor bounce place but you get a private party there which is great. He's invited his class and then some. We'll be lucky if half of them show. I wanted to do it on Friday but that's the same night as the elementary school's annual Fall Festival so I didn't figure that'd be too good; however, I hope I don't mess around and miss the Bama/FSU game either b/c I don't know what time kick-off is now I'm freaking out! Blake and Kim and Jack will be in Jax for that game and will miss Ty's party but what can I do?! It was literally the ONLY day I could pull it off. But seriously, ten years old? I dunno know how this has happened!!
Here are a couple of pictures I took this week of the boys with their Chi pup, Bailey. The dog was knocked out w/ Evan but woke up when I came in with the camera of course.

Evan snoozin' with Bailey
I don't know who is more spoiled around here, the kids or the dog. They're all pretty rotten.
Welp, for the rest of this week I'll be studying and making a path through my house as much as possible! I won't be going to the ballgame as much as I'd love to, I've got bigger priorities. My college is closed on Thursday but I believe the math lab will be open so I'm going to go down there anyway and see if I can use the extra time wisely and my bio teacher said if our building is open, she'd leave the lab open so we could come in and do bone lab even though we don't have class Thursday b/c of some faculty meeting elsewhere. I'd love to have extra lab time if possible. When I start feeling overwhelmed with the amount of work and studying, I look at these little boys' faces and often Google RN jobs around here and see the pay and benefits and that surely helps, too. ;-)
