Yesterday was just one of those days. Thanks to Gustav blowing around we had light winds and cloud coverage all day so I decided since we also have a zoo membership, we'd head over to the Birmingham Zoo and see what's been going down this summer. We haven't been since March which is unheard of for us! I was surprised at what all was new and/or improved actually; I wasn't really expecting all that. The most exciting thing to me was learning that we now have a kangaroo exhibit! The big lazy things were just lying under trees taking it easy but they were fun to see anyway. You could see their ears whip a little when the wind would blow, they appeared to be smiling, lying on their sides looking at each other it seemed as if they were having private conversations and enjoying the attention. (Here's a picture of my boys grooming a goat at the Alabama Barn.)

Lazy Kangaroos
I spent a portion of yesterday evening and into last night frustrated to death over a portion of what's going to be on a pharmacology test I'm going to be leaving to go take soon. Basic math, sure, I can do most of it WITHOUT the calculator, but we're not allowed to use one at all so there's a part or two that really gets me because I have to work it out on paper to get the answer and it's stumping me somewhere and I don't really know where. Our teacher didn't go over *any* of it in class. She just said the first 3 chapters of Math for Meds will be on the test today along w/ the material we covered in class re: drugs.... Great. I am officially screwed. It's hard for me to accept. This is the same lady that said first day of class, "Those of you used to making A's, you'll do good to make a C in this class." I need to stop worrying about making all A's; I wanted -no, needed- to get them before in order to get accepted into this program and while I do want to do my very best I am going to have to realize this is a whole new ballgame and my very best might just be a C in pharm before it's said and done! I just need to learn it, do my best, pass and move on to the next semester one step at a time. I have a lot on my plate in re: to school and homework and studying and trying to keep up. I know in my head that I can do it, but there is a part of me that wonders what I've gotten myself into!
Today, I'm envying those lazy kangaroos.

Don't let those boasting teachers get the best of you. Their just trying to weed out their class! At least that's what I was always told! LOL
"great. i am officially screwed." = our new mantra. reminds me of twig lamenting that she was/is pereptually "shafted" for life. :) IWIWD.
